Amendment to the Value Added Tax Act in the Chamber of Deputies

The Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament discussed in the first reading the bill amending the Act No. 235/2004 Sb. (the Value Added Value Tax Act) and related acts. The bill is related to currently proposed pension reform which should lead, in a two-step process, to increase of the lower rate of tax from 10% to 14% as of January 1, 2012, and consequently even introduction of the sole rate of 17, 5% as of January 1, 2013. Domain rights in the Czech Republic are going through continuous development, one that concerns a very young area of law, which our courts are only gradually trying to settle. The majority of legal issues in this area arise from matters where entrepreneurs often underestimate the importance of domains at the beginning of their business enterprise. As a result, they are subject to risk by trying to get a head start and registering their domain first off. To reclaim such a domain is then very difficult and also frequently quite costly. VKŠ attorney at law  Alena Kojzarová informed more on this matter and domain rights in an article, which came out in the last issue of a newsletter put out by an international human resources and consulting company Kienbaum and Partner.
