Petra Buzkova

She was born in Prague in 1965.

After completing her studies at Jan Kepler grammar school in Prague she went to Charles University in Prague where she graduated from the Faculty of Law in 1989; in the same year she passed her state viva voce and was awarded the title of JUDr.

From 1992 until 1999 she worked as an articled clerk at JUDr. Ladislav Polák's law firm.

From 1992 until 1996 she was a member of the Czech National Council/Chamber of Deputies of Parliament. In 1996 she was elected 1st deputy leader of the Chamber of Deputies and she held this office until 2002.

From 2002 until 2006 she was the Czech Minister of Education, Youth and Sports. Since 23rd October 2006 she has been a partner in Vyroubal Krajhanzl Školout & Partners law firm. Buzková is currently a member of the analysis committee at the Competition Office in Brno.

She specialises in commercial and financial law, competition law and public tender law
