Many of Werich’s thoughts have become popular and so even thirty years after his death you still can’t find anyone without at least one of his pearls of wisdom or apt comments lodged in his mind. A documentary that Ceska Televize is about to release on the 15th of December entitled “Searching for Jan Werich” only confirms this point.

At the beginning of October, the official ceremonial revealing of the Woodrow Wilson monument took place in Vrchlickeho Sady in Prague. Wilson, along with T. G. Masaryk, M. R. Stefanik and E. Benes was one of the initiators of the Czechoslovak declaration of in 1918.

Fiscal issues with transfer pricing, which means company transactions within the framework of a single group, were addressed at a professional conference entitled Transfer Pricing – How to do it properly. The conference took place on the 1st of November at the Park Inn Hotel in Ostrava and was organized by the publishing house Economia.

The Talich Chamber Orchestra (TCO), which was founded in 1992 by Jan Talich Jr., has opened their jubilee season last week. The Orchestra has gained worldwide fame during these 20 years and at home, they are also very popular for their concert series for members.

Gift vouchers for legal counselling services totalling 45,000 CZK were awarded by Jakub Joska, a representative of VKS, to the winners of the business project competition ‘Vodafone Idea of the Year 2011’. The competition is aimed at boosting business thinking and activities for young people and is organized by the Institute for the Development of Entrepreneurship (IDE) through Prague University of Economics (VŠE). VKS is proud to announce that they have been cooperating with these institutions for a long time.

The topic of legal changes in Ukraine will be addressed at the conference held by VKŠ, its Ukrainian partner – the legal firm BML Consulting - and by the Chamber of Trade and Industry for CIS Countries, in Prague on March 24, 2011.
